Completed: 2010

Location: Santa Fe, TX

Architect: PBK Architects

Client: Santa Fe Independent School District

This much needed facility was built to house the District´s Ag students´ animals including cattle, swine, goats and poultry. Areas of the building include an office, a classroom, The building consists of a PEMB structure with metal wall panels and a standing seam metal roof. Customized pens with all necessary MEP requirements were provided to house the animals. CMU divider walls were constructed to provide separation between the different sections. A detention pond was added to help drain the site and maintain a holding so that neighboring areas were not flooded.

Due to its proximity to the coast, the entire building and all of its components were built to meet the 120 mph windload requirements, and as many elements as possible were galvanized to prevent corrosion. Hoof Grid was installed at the cattle turnout area to help maintain the integrity of the soil at these locations and prevent extremely muddy paddocks.
